Kim Koenning Pieri
BA University of Houston – Dance/Sociology
As a Cy Creek graduate and former Silvie, Kim is proud to call her former high school her current professional home! Kim earned her AA from Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Belle for two years and served as a Dance Captain her second year. She completed her studies at the University of Houston, graduating with a BA in Education with an emphasis in Dance and Sociology, receiving Outstanding Dance Student of the Year for 1990.
Prior to becoming the Silvies Director, she was the director of the Waller HS Wranglerettes and the Brigade at Kempner HS. Kim also served as assistant director of the Cy Woods HS Cadettes and long term sub for the Cy Fair HS Brigade. Although, winning both team and officer awards is an ongoing goal; Kim’s most valued accomplishment is teaching her dance and drill team students the proper tools for future success.
Kim has been involved with the Dance/Drill Team industry for the past 26 years serving as contest and team adjudicator, TDEA board member, FBISD Dance Director Liaison, nominated by students to Who’s Who among American Teachers and was a contest coordinator for the “Contest of Champions” at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Kim enjoys numerous hobbies, such as stationery design, premier designs jewelry consultant and volunteering. While spending time with family and friends is extremely important, her favorite thing to do is spend quality time with her children, Payton, Jocelyn & Garrett!
BS Stephen F. Austin State University – Kinesiology/History
Megan is a graduate from Kingwood Park High School in Humble ISD. Megan completed her undergraduate studies from Stephen F. Austin State University, graduating with a BS in Education with emphasis in Kinesiology and History. She was a member of the SFASU Pom Squad for two years and competed in Daytona, Florida at NDA Nationals.
Megan joins the Silvies as assistant director, with experience as a drill team line member, captain and colonel of the Kingwood Park Silver Stars. Megan has choreographed for numerous drill teams in the Houston and East Texas areas. For three years Megan was the head director of the MS/HS dance team and co teacher for the elementary team at Venetia’s Dance Studio in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Megan enjoys hiking and backpacking and most of all spending time with her family and her dog Harley!
As an active UIL adjudicator, and clinician throughout the state, Sharon has conducted high school and middle school region choirs in Texas. She was named to Who’s Who for America’s Teachers, 2005-06, and was honored as the Spotlight Teacher of the Year from Cypress-Creek High School in 2001. Ms. Paul has also been nominated for Texas Teacher of the Year.
